With our current struggles to grow the seniority list, I'm guessing a new domicile isn't coming too soon?

IMHO, we already have too many bases. We are too thin. Not enough flying to justify the bases we got much less expansion.

The only two things we are good at are
1) Gate utilization 2) Aquiring New Airplanes Using those gates efficiently is actually quite a feat. The new planes are nice to. Unfortunatly from what I see that is where our stregnths end. |
I wonder with CVG becoming a new base, what upgrades will look like for a new hire in CVG...

Not when I fly. Our gate utilization is HORRENDOUS. There were months when just about every trip I had to wait at least 15 minutes for a gate in ATL, DFW, MCO and PHX

That happens, Part of it is your getting to your destination eariler then your supposed to, Your just effecent. Watching AA in MIA those planes could be sitting on gate for six hours. I understand they are playing a diffrent game.(or were) That said gate wise we make good use of our resources. It dosen't mean there is not overlap, all the other problems over run the gains. Still I belive we make good use of the gates. Or put another way F9 would lose WAY more money if we had more gates. To the point it may break the company.
AA planes are not sitting at the gate for six hours. They just had basically a cancel-free Thanksgiving holiday, and in the last 12 months they are quietly coming back to be a very strong, lean, dominant player. They sell a different product than Frontier sells. Gates: Once the rampers can not be missing in action for ANY single gate in MCO (a major base) or LAS, then we can talk "multiple gates". It seems if two planes taxi into MCO at the same time, the blue screen of death hits all the rampers |
