I'm really not sure what the op is talking about.
Frontier has had a turbulent past. Been through bankruptcy, nearly bought by swa, owned by republic, and now owned by indigo. We have converted into an ulcc, and are making more money than ever before. We've made over 100 million this year. We face a new market. Ulcc in the US is still a pretty new concept to most folks. It's hard to tell, but I think the Ulcc model will do well in the US. Wal-Mart sure has.
A frontier merger with jet blue seems unlikely to me. A merger with spirit seems way more likely.
Frontiers making real money for the first time ever. We have lots of planes on order. We also face stiff ulcc competition (CLE)
We are just now starting to see how the big airlines are reacting to the ulcc model. Who knows what the future holds? They sure couldn't stop the growth of southwest, and I doubt they will stop the growth of the ulcc. Frontier might be ripe to be bought out by a big guy, or merge with spirit, but I agree that frontier is unlikely to be a stand alone airline in twenty years.
Frontier is trying to beat swa at their own game. But a cheaper guy could always be right behind... Spirit does have slightly lower costs than us.

First of all, to clear the air... I'd like to hear from all the doom & gloom pilots. The sinking ship advocates that wished nothing but ill will against F9. We're still here, stronger & united as ever. I thought we were going away according to the junior Einstein's on this forum? We want to hear from you know-it-all wannabe's. Your a-matter-of-fact, know-it-all statements, your probationary wisdom. Your statements aren't forgortten & we know whom a lot of you are. So, let's hear from you and how correct you were. It's like dealing with a 12 year old posting on this forum.
Let's get on with it, shall we

I think an F9/Spirit combo is possible. Less likely is F9/B6.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that F9 was able to rid itself of Bedford and the IBT and is reportedly (since there's no way to verify) doing well, I'm merely pointing out the irony of a troll referring to others as such, and that in this current environment, an airline CEO can't fall out of bed without turning a profit.

Nothing really, I'd just like to hear from the know-it-all's that fought tooth and nail until the bitter end, slamming F9 & childish name calling to get their incorrect point across. I find it funny how quiet they are, selfless & bitter in their own self distain. We all don't know as much as we think we do in this business. We're all in this together. Many have better jobs, due to luck or smarter choices. In the end, we are all pilots & proud of what we do despite our work rules or pay.
Its funny now that I changed my uniform y'all couldn't be nicer to me......its like I put on an invisibility cloak or something.
