The #1 most important thing is to move where mama will be happy. She and the family are going to be there 100% of the time, while you are most likely not going to be (unless fate lines up the stars and your career domicile happens to be in that same place).
That being said, if you are going to commute, within certain factors it almost doesn't matter where you live or where you get hired. There are obviously many places you could possibly work, and within that many bases you could be assigned to. Plus, bases close and open, fleets are introduced and retired, etc, during the course of a career. No, Delta is probably not going to leave Atlanta and United is probably not leaving Denver...but there are ex-TWA folks that thought St Louis was probably a sure thing, too.
So, picking a residence based on "what airline" and "what base" has serious pitfalls, especially since you have no idea where your "career destination" is going to be. I certainly wouldn't pick it based on what regional you will be doing a short touch-and-go at.

Copy and thanks. I agree...but, I can certainly hedge my bet a bit by picking a commute-friendly location. As you can see from previous posts, we were looking at Vegas, Houston and Dallas as well. I have heard Denver can be a tough spot to commute from based on the #s and commuter competition...others have said they do it without many issues. That being said, having the potential option to not commute right off the bat with GoJet is certainly a plus.

Good luck with the decision. I was hired as a Street captain by gojet in May 2017 (I had a previous 7 years with them) and the banking of the 6 month seniority would work out nicely for you. Indoc in STL followed by a minimum of one month in STL before being able to bid out to DEN. That commute (while I don't do it) isn't too bad if you have to do it for a while. SW, GoJet flights for UAL, etc are good options and better than ORD-DEN from what I've heard. Denver is senior and a smaller base so movement on the CA side is slow if you are still at GoJet for long. With that being said the Mil background may make your stay a short one.

Be careful coming to this place Brad Sargent and Randy Bratcher will bounce you out of here faster than ****. Just like they did to a member of the Air National guard. A few months later they wanted to retract his termination to avoid going to trial for a lousy $20,000. Source of my information is court documents as well as depositions.

Also my time here has been highly enjoyable with great crews, my movement up the seniority list has been fast, my quality of life far better than it ever was at my former "top-tier" "Great-contract" regional.

Keeping people informed when they make a decision to come here. Especially an Air Force guy needs to know what Randy and Brad truly think about members of the armed forces. Perhaps you have not flown with either of them but it is disgraceful on the yelling and screaming obscene tirades they go on. Anyone with some history here can perhaps keep you informed on the true personality of these two characters. No integrity whatsoever.

I am prior USAF and both thanked me personally for my service. Also, Randy is retired Navy, so your post about him hating the military is plain wrong. Like 135121 mentioned, they are all about honesty and hard work. Ya think that might have more to play than the other? I would say close to 25% percent of the pilot group is prior military or military affiliated.
I’ll also add that I’ve been treated better here than I ever was at another large non-wholly owned regional.
Happy trolling though!

Honesty and integrity is out of the scope of both Randy and Brad. Fact is that they told a member of the U.S. Armed Forces that they will bounce them out of here faster than ****. Fact is that he was terminated while attending his commitments in the U.S. Armed Forces reserve for partaking in these activities. After the member filed suite in federal court GoJet decided to reinstate the member acknowledging wrongdoing on the behalf of Randy Bratcher and Brad Sargent. Based on GoJets trial brief and depositions they admit to it. Just because one is a prior member of the armed forces does not automatically exonerate you from any and all wrong doing. So this defense of Randy and Brad is not valid. The facts are that they acted with malice against this person because he was attending his duties and sought out to harm this individual for being a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.
My interactions with both Randy and Brad have not been truthful on there behalf by any means. Inclusive when you tell them the truth they go on this tirade full of derogatory insults and further will go to great lengths and lies to seek harm.
