I thought you were on your way to ENDV ??

Postponed for a few months.

Gonna finish off my 1000 PIC and collect some 300%. Probably resign in October, would hate to work over the holidays.

I'm excited. You can see the writing on the wall. CA pay will be $225 per hour in the late summer. I'll be blocking off entire weeks to get a cut of the cake.

If you're waiting to leave , to collect your 1000 PIC , what would be the point of then going to 9E?

They already offered new hires more. Potential new hires aren’t stupid. It’s pretty easy to do the math, a $26k bonus at G7 gives you about $62k the first year and then $38k the second which means $100k over 2 years, or you can go to Endeavor and make $60k 1st year and $50k second year, so after 2 years ($110k)you are $10k ahead of GoJet, and the money has been taxed at a lower rate. Then you upgrade to $90 hr, have a better contract, and a Delta interview.

Filling classes was last years problem, this years problem will be keeping pilots in the jets. GoJet has already seen what happens when they let themselves fall behind in pay, it cost them 300% all summer long. It will be interesting to see if they make the same mistake twice. Smart money says they will fail to react again.

The money would not be taxed at a lower rate.

$20 an hour, easier commute, better commuter policy, Ability to commute in during your reserve window, Delta interview.

If I had gotten a January class date I would have went, but they are backed up until April now.

If G7 wants to throw another $20 an hour at me, then the other reasons probably won’t justify the loss of seniority, until then it does.

At that point I ask why even bother? April to October will cost you a few hundred numbers on the list, pushing you further to the bottom of captain lines and way down the line for Delta.

Money and qol. The same two things that drive most pilot career decisions.
I will take 3 weeks off between resigning and class date, then be in training over holidays so I get them off. Then I’ll be making $20k extra a year with an easier commute.

It’s still 8 months away anyway. Who knows what kind opportunities will be available by then?

The only thing we know is that G7 has historically been slow to react and the response (new bonuses) is usually quite underwhelming.
