Default RTP Program

I posted this question a couple of years ago regarding the RTP program with Go-Jet. Obviously, I don't plan on this occurring. But a hypothetical situation where you take the $35,000 to assist with your ratings. Then for some reason you aren't successful in completing training nor IOE. What is your payback to go-Jet look like? Thanks.

Typically with these arrangements you sign some contract that stipulates a predetermined service period owed to the company. If you don’t successfully complete training or IOE you’d most likely be on the hook for repaying the company the full $35k. Pay very close attention to any paper you sign your name to.

Usually the amount owed to the company slowly decreases over time served, so for example, if you signed a two-year contract and only served one year, you’d owe about half of the money back. The exact amount of debt depreciation should be specified in the ‘contract’ so read the fine print. I don’t have one of these contracts so I can’t give you specifics.

These kinds of arrangements are not regulated by the union so if you decide to take a deal like this, make sure you get everything in writing and save copies of signed contracts in case you need them later.

Whether it’s GoJet or any other regional running an RTP sponsorship program, this guidance applies.

I heard the other day that even if you reach your minimum hour requirements for Aviate the individual still cannot flow over . The reason being that GOJET and UNITED have a agreement that Gojet pilots must stay at the airline 4 years before flow over, regardless of total time.

I'm not aware of anything stating this, but if you're hearing from someone that there's a legacy flow that happens in less than 4 years anywhere, you're probably talking to a recruiter.

Just get hired as a DEC and go to United in two years.

I would love for you to give us an example of anyone who has flowed to United in 2 years.

I wonder if GoJet is still around in 2 years. Or even 2 months. Good luck

Thats the advertisement from GoJet. Wonder how the captains on property feel about it.

Here is what is on the https://www.gojetairlines.com/pilots website today.

"74 AIRCRAFT IN 2022"

"GoJet Airlines is looking for highly qualified pilots who want to revolutionize regional flying."

"As a GoJet pilot, you will be joining a talented, growing, and energized team flying for United Airlines. With the new CRJ-550, prepare for opportunity and sustainability as you receive great starting pay and quick upgrades."

"Aviate pilots are given priority when positions become available at United after you finish your minimum requirements."

"
2,000 flight hours and 24 months with a United Express Aviate partner are the minimum requirements to earn your stripes. Already have flight time? Even better! Candidates who are already flying with a United Express Aviate partner will be credited for months and hours already completed but must still serve a minimum of six months with GoJet"

From the United Aviate website, "United aims to hire up to 24% of the Aviate transition list each year at each participating United Express (UAX) carrier" An "aim" is not an agreement to do anything.

From the Gojet Facebook page posted yesterday, "
BREAKING NEWS Ready to start your path to the rest of your career? GoJet Airlines is proud to announce a TWO-YEAR flow path to United for highly qualified Direct-Entry Captain candidates. To be eligible for this path, submit your application to GoJet via Airline Apps now through December 31st, 2022." Again, nothing is promised, nothing is guaranteed. It is merely saying that something is possible, not that it will ever happen, especially not that it will happen in 2 years.

In summary, they are asking you to come to Gojet and lose hundreds of thousands of dollars working for lower pay and benefits, based on vague statements of what might happen.

The "new" crj-550, haha. They're the oldest crj 700s in the worldwide fleet. Horrible condition, those street captains will be spending their days looking up reset procedures and falsifying the logbook to get the job done so they can go home on time.
