I've read a lot of posts about it, and I really think that if we sit on the sidelines and keep trying to wait it out for a better airline industry, we're all gonna get screwed. If pilots who don't want to wait don't fill the seats, maybe foreigners would. Maybe ticket prices get high enough again and people don't buy, that we wait ourselves right out of a job.
My mentors always told me that you don't have to like it, you just have to do it. So I may not like that starting out in the airline world is financially similar to working at wally world, but hours at a cash register won't help you move up in the pilot ranks.

I don't care who you work for, if you have a job, good on you for getting things done. Good luck GoJet'er.

Some of you talk about bringing the airline industry back to what it was? Never happen. I have a friend, retired Captain on 74 and 77, from UAL. He was pulling down about 350/year before he retired. He is 68 now, flying a C-680 cuz they pulled about 70% of his pension from him. So he HAS to work. Go figure.

If we don't understand what the problem is, we will never get anywhere other than continuing the death spiral of this industry that was once one of the best. Flying for alter-ego airlines is not the way to do it, not to mention what it means for your future in this business. Flight time is flight time, you can get it anywhere, it doesn't have to be on an altergo jet.

So Gojet was created to get bigger planes and pay pilots who flies them less right? bringing down the payscale of this insdustry right?
F/O Gojet 1st year...$23 CRJ-700
F/O Gojet 2nd year...$30

Linx aviation Q-400
F/O...1st year...$21
F/O ..2nd year...$24
who is bringing down this industry??? only gojet???
what about RAH who is flying what once were Midwest routes (pilots now on the street)???
guilty everybody who under the pressure from the CEO's allow them to make cuts and you taking it instead of stand together as a hole unit and fight for what is right for the pilot group.

if you do a search for aerolineas argentinas or lan argentina on the news you will see a pilot group who stand together against managment every time they try to make pay cuts ,they strike, they stop the hole fleet no plane takes off until the pilot group gets what they need and want.

You've missed the entire point but good try. I'm too lazy to explain how those situations are different because I've done it many times before and it gets old educating the ignorant.

As I've said a million times before hourly rates mean nothing unless you have a good set of workrules. You get online and read the g0jets contract and see for yourself. Couple that with the type of management that runs the place and QOL/paycheck is in the proverbial toilet.

Payrates mean jack without a good contract which includes good workrules

DOH or staple GoJetters to the bottom.

Hold the line or burn it down.

Yea the pay doesn't matter. If you've noticed it's almost the same industry wide, what matters is work rules. Lynx is not an alterego airline like GJ, Frontier pilots voted for the flying because it brings extra income to Frontier and has kept them profitable. If Frontier formed another airline and called it Lynx to fly A320s for half the price with no union, then that would kind of be like Gojet, you get it?
