To answer the original question
In a recent conversation with a Go Jet captain:
Bombardier apparently is having trouble delivering the aircraft promised to GO Jet due to mass production of 900's. The 700 deliveries are backlogged a bit however they should be able to start deliveries in June or July instead of the April/May time frame. Therefore Go Jet is interviewing but not necessarily hiring due to backlogged aircraft.
Before the rest of you start with your ramped insults I don't work for nor do I have interest in working for Go Jets I just like to keep up with former colleagues of mine.

Nice someone asked an honest question and gets a bunch of bitter responses, that's real proffesional. Not everyone has the luxury of getting a job at a nice union represented pilot group. There are people that are living on unemployment, NO LET ME REFRASE THAT, there are people that are slipping into oblivion on unempoyment that would love to have any job. I believe that pilot's should band together to help each other out. Ask yourself what you would do if you were on the street and looking to get off unemployment that may not last more then a year to a year and a half, once those checks stop coming anything starts to look like a decent job.

I too think pilots should band together… but taking a job at gojet is far from that. There are tons of us with wives and kids, not to mention mortgages, that refuse to take a job at this alter ego airline. I can get paid more at home depot. There is no ' I have to feed my family' argument for working at gojet.

Probably wouldn't need them anyways. If anything's going to be passed it would probably be based on job security.

I was flying years back with a retired airline captain on a part 135 trip, and he looked at me and said, " Do you know why the pilot profession has been degraded to a glorified cab driver career?" As I nod my head he points directly in my direction and exclaims, "Because of You". I showed up for that flying gig to work for deplorable wages. There were 50 people behind me who would have done it for less. The less money an FO is willing to work for, the more captain pay will suffer because FO's will accept less just to pilot that shiny bird from the left seat. We are all at fault. Not just GOJET, but Republic, Skwyest, Pinnacle, Mesa, TranStates, etc, etc, etc. Everyone who has worked for $21 an hour. Collectively. I highly doubt that your brand new lexus has much larger rims than the gentlemans lexus who works at gojet. I would even wager to say that your paychecks are, surprisingly, similar.

So, if you're in the pool. Get out while you still can. Go sling burgers, fly checks, CFI, whatever...

Are regional airline pilots seriously this immature and bitter? We collectively, as pilots have brought the industry down to where it is. You sir have no concept of where this industry came from, and where it is heading now. You are a regional airline pilot. I was a regional airline pilot. We all took jobs working for laughable paychecks performing critical and skillful duties that involved the lives of our passengers. We are less than rewarded for it, we are basically paid in dog food. First year pay at regionals is terrible. Second and third year pay for an FO is also sub-par. There is almost no difference in a couple dollars an hour difference between certain regionals. Whether you feel like the chief meathead because you are at a 'top tier' regional, and you gaulk at scumbags like me who worked for bottom feeders is negligable. All regional FO pay is very low, and as it gets lower, more and more kids are lining up to work for it.

I think that not all, but a majority of the posters that get the most animated in their arguments against GJ are those who are furloughed from TSA. This group of posters were not at TSA in 2004-2005 when GJ was formed and when the pilot group was screwed over by both management and fellow pilots. These people where hired well after GJ was formed. They new what TSA was, at least they should have. They should have known that it is a company whose management does not care one ounce about their workers. They should have known that TSA management, instead of paying pilots a few extra pesos to fly larger aircraft, created a separate company to get around a CBA. But these people went to TSA anyways, so they could hop into a jet with 500 hours, instead of being patient and waiting for a better opportunity to come up. These are the same people that, when furloughed, promptly blame GJ pilots for their demise. These are the people that suggest you go work at burger king before going to GJ.
It doesn’t make sence. It would be like me getting hired at TSA today, working for a year, getting furloughed, and then blaming GJ and their pilots for my working for deplorable wages, working under deplorable conditions, and then getting laid off. It would have been my decision alone to go to TSA, know one put a gun to my head.
I fully support those at TSA that where directly affected by the creation of GJ. However, it is extremely hard to support someone that took that job after seeing what management was capable of. It is hard to listen to one of these entitled posters telling you to go work at KFC before screwing them over by taking a job at GJ. They should have known it was a garbage company. All regionals are garbage, but the management at TSA has certainly set the bar. If you are going to move next to an airport, don’t call and complain about the noise. If you take that job at TSA, don’t promptly blame all things GJ for your crappy pay, crappy schedule, crappy work rules, crappy equipment, and your furlough. You had a choice, heaven forbid you could have instructed a bit longer and waited for a better gig.

You didn't expand his thought, you showed him that the hatred of GJ has to do with what happened with TSA, not because of their sub par pay/contract.
