Default GoJet CQFO's to become Captains

Effective May 1 - The company is making CQFO's into full time captains to avoid violating the CBA.

* I'm not sure if it's all of the CQFO's that were on property or not. The current CBA allows for 1 CQFO for every 2 aircraft on property.

Captain Qualified First Officer. They say they are hiring for captains but actually if you qualify for their captain minimums, you get hired as a CQFO, not a full time captain.

I'm not 100% sure but I think they use you as a captain only when they need you and then you get captain pay but otherwise you are a first officer. Like i said not 100% sure.

Because they are growing faster than current staffing allowed for - there weren't enough qualified first officers to fill the positions.

What does that have anything to do with it? When everyone was growing in 2007, regionals would just hire street CA or FO that would only be FO for about a month before they can bid CA. Sounds to me like your company is trying to keep cost down, let guys fly as CA but on FO pay or blended rates. If you say they are growing so fast let them hire street CA and give them CA pay.

Not the only one. We use CQF's, full CA pay for all assignments though.
