GoJet Class
There is a difference between a pilot on furlough from ual going to gojetzzz vs a normal pilot going there. Whatever, you are the one who has to live with your decision. Just don't come on here looking for support in going to g7. I guess the quick upgrade is nice. Have fun!

Hypocrisy? How about applying to the place that just took your job? At year one salary at a much worse paying position. How many comair guys complain about the dci shuffle and are the first ones applying to go jets? Btw i understand losing a job is tough. And I'm not characterizing every single comair guy out there before every comair guy accuses me of not understanding anything and the very tough position you've been put in.

Well said.
It amazes me that so few know how many furloughed United guys fly/have been flying, at GoJets. Now, those who badmouth GoJet, would be the first to stand in line trying to get an interview with UAL once they start hiring. And they can’t wait. I flew with a pilot not long ago who was badmouthing GoJet and telling me how it’s a ‘career killer’ and , lo and behold, we had a GoJet pilot, a UAL furlough, jump-seating up front on our last leg of the day, and my colleague actually had the gall to ask him for a reference for his UAL application. YES, he asked the GoJet guy for a reference. Irony? Hypocrisy? I bet my career on this fact: each one of the GoJet haters would stand in line to get a reference from a GoJet pilot whose ‘UAL credentials’ would help her/him get interview/job with UAL. I will tell that to my friend who was in the first few classes in 2005, who is now flying for his dream carrier (and has been there for over 5 years--premium legacy carrier too!). Sure ruined his life uh? NOT :) There are hundreds of more with the same story. Your'e right, these kids can bark their nonsense all day, it won't change the fact that Gojet is NOT nor ever will be a career ending or damaging move. That is the simple and undeniable facts. It is funny and entertaining to watch though isn't it? Prospective regional pilots, what you want is a fast upgrade and to be ready for mainline hiring in the upcoming years. Who cares what lanyard you wear or how great you think your contract is...... regional flying is contract/ temp flying in the first place, that is not anything offensive, it is just the reality of the business (harsh I know, and I feel for those impacted by Comair being shut down, it is just reality though and business...not feelings---remove emotion from this equation). So pilots ready for the regionals, GO where you can upgrade fast, and move on to better things.... and right now, Gojet is that place. And there is NO airline that will not hire you because of working there..... none whatsoever. The worst thing you can do it listen to these crew room ant--GJ "lawyers" that think they know it all.. Best of luck! :) |

In all fairness, the UAL furloughs you speak of had a job handed to them by G7 straight into the left seat. It's much different than a guy prepping to interview and swallow that disgusting contract as an FO.
You must have learned something from APC, that the first ones to bash a regional are the first ones to join that regional. History has proven over and over again. How about you come with a new screen name "Luv2RunMyMouth". |
