Who's gonna want to buy 9E from Delta? The industry today sucks. Republic cant find a buyer for Frontier, so what makes anyone think the market for buying a regional is good?

Long term.. Someone will. It's just like saying "how is regional X gonna find pilots with that contract" yet they get tons of applications.
It's the wow I never saw that coming factor.

Apparently Delta is very concerned about us having to hire in the fall, because they don't think that anyone will apply.
1.) They all but forced these pay rates on us, but now their concerned?
2.) staffing will not be a concern, because all they will just start giving up 200s if it does.
3.) I bet we get tons of apps dispite having awful pay rates and being on the bottom of a 2500 pilot list with no upgrades.

Just a thought, but I'm sure someone will disagree.

Great Lakes keeps getting applicants

We get lots of applicants but nobody shows up to class.

Flitestar 04-22-2013 06:25 AM

Qualified applicants?

I mean, they fully meet new ATP requirements coming in August and such?

No sarcasm, honest question.

Not fully qualified applicants, no. Anybody who meets all the mins isn't coming to Lakes. Your question is valid as I am sure there are stacks of resumes with 500 hours in HR and/or the Chief's office somewhere.

This thread delivers... IN before the deletion.

FlyingKat is a southern political analyst, and for whoever was asking where he was working, why does it matter. He probably started in aviation before you were a tadpole floating up sh!ts creek...

And which direction will the epaulets face?

As for GJ, is the DCI flying they do under contract with DL? Or can DL take it at any time? One would think GJ/TSA/Hulas would have insisted on some duration. Of course if PCL gets them, being owned by DL (which means everything?) would always be a placeholder until another lowballer came along, which would be inevitable and probably wouldn't take that long either.

The big variable here is EJ/SW. Many have said they have a huge cost reset coming in 2015 where they have to be second cheapest or something. So basically between GJ and Pinnacle as of right now? And that assumes neither of them takes any additional concessions before then.

Even if EJ/SW can achieve that, where does that leave the 3rd cheapest at that point?

How did this thread even get started??? Is this another gojet bash or are they actually in a situation where they will legit lose their flying?

Considering that Delta is maxed out on 700's then that would mean they would have to come from either GJ, SKW or EXJ. Two of them aren't hiring and one recently stopped all hiring and upgrades. That carrier's DCI fleet consists of 22 CRJ 700.

Well then that means they either come from GJ or EXJ! So it's a 50% chance they come from GJ.

I paid V-ditty under the table

That differences study packet was a while ago. I care about my base, and in my base there is no 700 Delta flying. There's delta 900 and 200 along with united 200/700 but that's it. If you want to get technical dont forget about the Alaska 700s included in the packet

Jet87 04-22-2013 10:09 AM

You better brush up for recurrent ;-)

I'd be wearing it backwards. How else would I differentiate myself from a -200 pilot.

For the -200 you wear them correctly.

For the Heavy 9 you wear them backwards.

For the -700 you wear them facing the correct way but upside down. (with the seam showing)

That leaves one more airplane type in queue..............

My first day, I no *******, wore mine backwards the whole day. Guys would tell me there are backwards and I would just tell them that I have bigger issues to worry about now.

In fact one time I had my zipper on my pants all the way down when I was commuting to work. All the way from Florida to STL through ATL. Walking around ATL in my pilot costume trying to catch a flight to STL with my fly down. Awesome.

It's not your fly, it's a cowl flap. You're just airing out your junk... Especially in FL.
