Just heard that one of the first group of newhires at UPS is a GoJet pilot. Congrats to him and this debunks the myth that having GoJet on your resume is the kiss of death for ever working for a desirable major airline.

People who seriously think working at certain airlines is going to hurt your chances at a major....what are you thinking?
There is just no way that's going to happen. Hopefully people who hold grudges will be weeded out by recruiters, but should one somehow get through and, god forbid, on to a hiring board it's highly improbable that that one person will ruin anyone's chances. Imagine trying to explain to 3 other recruiters around a table that they shouldn't hire xyz candidate because he worked at abc regional.

I wonder what his background was? If he got hired with no heavy time and a few internal recs, then good for him. Its nice to see UPS once again hiring RJ pilots.

"My rj is better than your rj nerds" would be laughing at GoJet if their pilots could not get hired.
There are children in every profession. Ignore them.
The guy that got hired is a sharp guy, a true professional and a class act.

The last time I checked Go jet was a union shop. Also, there are no union pilots that do interviews at UPS. Back in '02 I was doing Rj training in Montreal for ACA. A freedom crew got in the hotel elevator. The Captain takes one look and says , "don't talk them , they are one step above scabs.". That was my introduction to the friendly world of the airlines pilot groups.

Met a GoJet FO in ORD a few years back. His dad flew for United and his mom was at FedEx, they told him to go to GoJet for the quick upgrade if he wanted to get to the majors ASAP. That was my first indication that the majors could care less about the drama at the regional level, well that and the JetBlue captain who asked me "What's a GoJet?"
