Coneydog, would you care to share what you've heard about GoJet if you don't mind? How is it so bad compare to other regionals?

Again I'm really new to this and am trying to get grasps on this. I'm from Canada and till now I just knew to instruct, get hours when ready go on to the next level in this case regional. Never heard of all this drama and pilots talking **** about other regionals/pilots, "scabs" etc
Thanks!

are you trolling? No cancellation pay and no movement. Why would you even consider them.

PSA/MESA/Compass far better options at this point.

Ah ok that makes more sense. What about envoy/ExpressJet/republic?

Well I'm sorry if I ****ed off anyone here. I'm just trying to get info and what's the attitude is toward different regionals.

All three of those regionals are not in a good place. Of the 3, probably Republic is the "strongest". The 50 seaters have an exit plan and will be an all EMB 170/175 airline within 2 years. 50 new 175's for UA coming for UA. Still no contract though one is expected within the 6 months that'll probably pass (from a member of the NC I spoke with, so take it for what it's worth).

In other words, go to Compass for west coast, TSA for east or central, PoSA ugh...for East.

Thank you very much. Btw which one is PoSA?

Here's my experience: Gojet has a lot of good people and has been good to me so far. The people I've met who flew for other regionals have mostly said Gojet is no worse than the others. No cancelation pay? Okay whatever. Minor MX issues, okay **** happens. I spent zero time on reserve. I have not had any issues that make it as bad as a place to work as what the APC keyboard warriors say. They are upgrading and the general mood is optimistic from what I have seen. Bottom line is, people on are complainers and are a small minority of the workforce. Mostly everyone in the real world laughs at the posts and rumors on here and doesn't take it seriously. The job is what you make of it. Have a nice day. :)

Thanks 'theyasllmered' !!! That is good piece of info. I have a question for you and please don't take it the wrong way. I read a few postings saying that GoJet fires pilots for no reasons. Does this actually happen? If so is that what the union is for? Why don't GoJet pilots get job protection from the union?
Again I'm new to the industry and don't know how things work (learning now :))

I've heard that but the only example people give is the guy who made a joke about low pay was supposedly fired. I'm not defending him/her getting fired, but what company wouldn't be upset about their employees making jokes about low pay? And why would an airline who needs people fire them so easily after spending lots of money on training them? You're on probation the first year and they can let you go for whatever reason they deem necessary, so don't be a doucher and do your job the right way and you don't have anything to worry about.

ExpressJet is flying E145s and CRJ200s, both planes with definite expiration dates. Consider SkyWest: With the current movement occuring, new hires will upgrade in 2.7 years according to spreadsheets I've been keeping for the last year. Quality of life here is pretty good, and SkyWest flys for most majors, and although there are a lot of 50 seaters, SkyWest is really good at utilizing old aircraft, still flying the Brasilia 10 years after most other airlines quit flying. And they're now getting phased out. AND getting new E175s and there are lots of MRJ orders too.

Another thing - SkyWest hasn't furloughed a pilot in its entire 42 year history. So if the economy hits the fan, it's a good place to be.

Also has a huge variety of bases, although the NW US is pretty senior (8 months or so to hold a reserve in SEA), MSP and ORD go junior.
