[QUOTE=FirstClass;2043371]Omg is that a serious question? What pilot would accept that?[/QUOTE
It's a serious question....Anybody have the answer on how HOTAC is handled during training? |
I know some of yall are not going to listen to me but I'm going to say it anyway. Do not come here!
I don't know what it is with people that when you say "look, there is a dumpster that is on fire!" for some reason people feel the need to go check it out for themselves. Trust me, it's a dumpster...and it's on fire...you don't need to see it for yourself. I didn't believe this place could be as bad as I was told. I live in one of the bases and it got me out of flight school. Now after fighting for my pay month after month, taking some of the most ridiculous check-rides I've ever seen and getting thrown under the bus every time something unusual happens before the facts are even known I'm getting out, and hopefully soon. It's criminal the way this company treats its people in department. Nice crews though. Legitimately nice folks in my base. |
I can't remember for sure which, but I seem to recall either XJet or Envoy has double occupancy during training.

It's good you are giving people the truth, but I'm never shocked to see people who go there thinking somehow it will be a great place to work. |

I'm not known to defend GoJet, but you have no clue what a private company's CPA says and what its associated penalties are. Delta can't just yank the flying if it would be in violation of the CPA and would open themselves up to millions of dollars in lawsuits.

Perhaps, but all of the DCI carriers have to show their performance numbers, and there is a target number given as part of those charts. GoJet is consistently well below those targets. Odds are very good that contractual targets aren't far off from those shown on the charts. Look at Republic now being sued by Delta for poor performance in violation of their CPA.

Serious questions thanks. Jen |

True but why do you need a crystal ball to tell you that GoJet should be at the bottom of the list of Regionals to work at? It has always been and still is very clear that there are very few reasons you'd want to put GoJet on your resume. Yes, it can work out but why risk it? Especially now where candidates have their pick of airlines, with much higher pay, better QOL and just as quick upgrades.

What kind of life decisions does one have to make for blowjet be the most attractive option?

Never mind, not worth the bandwidth it would waste.

https://youtu.be/mXbBbarfKPQ If we get hired as a capt can we be like this guy? At Gojet does everyone have the shoes with the wheels on them? I noticed on their announcement about street captains they require that 100% of your flight time be in fixed wing. I'm glad I didn't take that 20 minute helicopter lesson. |

Second, your misunderstanding of contract law is astounding. You can't just break the contract because of some subjective level of performance. I'm sure there is a level at which Delta could terminate the agreement but you can bet there would be a hefty fee for ending the CPA early. Those agreements have language that protect both the mainline buyer and the FFD supplier. You can't just say, "you're not doing great, I'm taking the airplanes back and not paying you." That's a breach of contract. Mainline reserves the right to not renew the CPA, but they literally just have Gojet ANOTHER cpa. That tells me they must not be that unhappy with the product. Not enough to pay GOJET x million dollars to buy out the existing contract. Against listed targets? On the UA side at TSA, those listed targets give the airlines performance bonuses. We get a bonus when we surpass those targets. At some level, TSA has to pay penalties but we haven't been threatened with that in a few years. So, Delta could just pay G7 less if they don't meet targets. These CPAs are very complex documents. Not just, hey, you didn't have a 98% completion factor. I'm not going to pay you anymore. |

I was on the jumpseat home one day with Lee as Captain. He did his whole "fly it like I stole it" speech and got a good reaction from the passengers. Though corny, in the cockpit he is very safe and professional. He is also a very nice guy. I do not work for GoJets.

Are the direct-entry captains really going to fly as FO about 50% of the time, or more? How many FO's are on the seniority list? Only GoJet pilots respond please.

Not a G7 guy but have 2 friends that left XJT for the street captain gig at G7. This program is different than a CQFO because you are truly fully a captain. This means you make captain wages not a blended rate like TSA. As for how much you will fly as a captain they are saying about 50% until the FO staffing comes back around which sounds like they have had some decent size classes.

I'm not up on this stuff so please educate me on how a cqfo program protects pilots as compared to a street captain position. If they are so short pilots that they are hiring street captains what is to be protected. Basically you upgrade when you have the time because that is the reason they are hiring street captains because they don't have enough internal pilots that are qualified.

Not necessarily. The company can choose to hire Captains and keep current FOs in the right seat since the is where the shortage exists.
Glad I upgrade next month. |
Out of sheer curiosity, these DECs... Where are they getting based?

I agree. Hire Street Captains and don't offer upgrade classes to any current and future FO's that have the time. Nothing in the contract prevents this.
Glad I upgrade next month. |
