All I would say is I've lived in a state that gave LGBT all the same rights and tax deductions as married couples but termed it "civil unions". The day after that law passed, LGBT activists sued saying it wasn't enough until it was called marriage.

“Separate but equal”

It wasn’t enough.

Priceless, you’re comparing 150 years of slavery, the bloodiest war fought by Americans, followed by a divisive Reconstruction, 100 years of Jim Crow and a decade-long civil rights battle to LGBT people not being allowed a marriage certificate and a cake. Really, snowflake?

Nope, no one is afraid of gays as my gay friends know what bathroom to use. It is just the stupidity and anti science that comes from universities that you can change your sex or genetic makeup based on how you feel.

BTW what did my post have to do with gays as most that I know are either annoyed or pi$$ed that their group is now associated with the different gender identities as it has nothing to do with them.

I just think you are afraid of how stupid the dems have become in pushing moronic agendas like this as their main platform.

The nice thing is that the platform that the Republicans are running on just let me keep $3000 dollars more of the money I earned with the tax cut.

Is this thread still about taxes, or did we drift into the typical Red vs. Blue yadda yadda yadda bull ploppers?

Should atheists not call it marriage because it wasn't in the church? Should that be illegal?

It shouldn’t matter. Why should the government decide who gets married? Yes laws to protect minors like whoever was talking about is different. I don’t care what someone does in their house. Being gay isn’t a new thing.... been going on for centuries and centuries and centuries.

I’m discussing a relevant landmark legal precedent. How do you get that I’m “comparing” slavery to gay marriage?

If you don't know how you compared the two you really should educate yourself before spouting "separate but equal".

But see, that’s the present day left in this country.

They have absolutely no idea who Hitler was.. to them, that’s Trump! Zero clue about what fascism really was, they think Trump and being patriotic means fascism. Absolutely no clue about real racism, bigotry, or intolerance, and yet look at their own actions.

Instead, they’ve worn out those historical words so much by attributing them to trivial crap that they’ve truly diluted the historical meaning of those words.

It’s kinda like the story about a boy who cried wolf, except given their actions, I’m starting to wonder if it’s not just ignorance.
