Why didn't anyone suggest carb heat? That's the real question.

I’m not a DAL pilot, fyi.

And yes, the high and mighty judgementalism in these posts is sad, as far as I’m concerned. I certainly show disdain toward those who judge this guy. No bias though. Not one of my peeps.

I’m certain you’d prefer not to be judged by your APC peers for some perceived slight one of these days.

The Miata is, or is not, a real sports car?

Haha, it most certainly IS a real sports car! But that’s for another contentious APC thread. Lol!

But is a Porsche 911 just a “beetle” as Jeremy Clarkson says it is? Is it just a Volkswagen? Hmm...🤔

You guys are killing me. In a good way. You’re making me laugh. 😜

A 911 is a Porsche.

A Boxter is a VW with an attitude.

A Sportster is not a Harley.

Alright I’ll give my two cents. Give the benefit of the doubt. The guy was probably a happy go lucky keener whose mindset was “oh geez these guys are in serious trouble I really want to help, I do NOT want to see a smoking hole in the ground and maybe I can save the day”. He gets on frequency, adrenaline pumping, doesn’t have any specific ideas so blurts out to run the QRH. I’m sure his heart was in the right place.

In the interest of full disclosure I do wear a sweet double breasted WWI British Navy lookin’ outfit from Nov-March.

Nope he's a tool. I can remember about 3 procedures from any of my previous aircraft.
1. Oxygen on/100%
2. Handgrips raise, triggers squeeze
3. (this one is a real fuzzy memory so probably wrong) Idle, neutral, aft, spinning left needle left rudder right, Stick full forward, recover from dive
He's a tool because of what he said, and that he said it when the aircraft was back under control and the captain was able to actually communicate. A non-tool would have been a current 175 pilot with a current QRC/QRH in hand offering to read it to them since neither pilot was able to even try to reach for the QRH, since they were probably both pushing against the yoke to try to control the aircraft.

You’re dating yourself with “triggers-squeeze”...
