I get the Dixie taxiway in ATL (even though I refuse to say it out of general principle) but what I don’t get is the endeavor and JetBlue guys that call everything with a d “Dixie”.
Going to gate Dixie 27? Roger that, Chief. I assume ramp has a tally sheet and when you hit 200 dixies you get an interview at Delta.
Runner up for cool ATL Delta pilots that say “Dixie” when not in the ATL.
But seriously. ATL ATC needs to get over themselves. I have gotten goofy clearances from them all the time and it is definitely one of those places where a little courtesy to pilots that don’t operate there every day would go a long way. Yes, the airport is a very efficient operation and does work remarkably well, but it has little to do with ATC correcting every little slip up or omission.
