Ooff and logic don’t mesh.

It’s quite logical to celebrate oneself in public when others have been and are currently often unable to be themselves in public. If nothing else, pride celebrations let people know that the intrinsic aspects of themselves that solicit bad reactions from others don’t need to be hidden.
