Where has your best over night been? Not at home! What city and hotel?

Seeing how I'm on-demand freight, um.....I'd have to say for the most part I don't enjoy them. Although I did get some good food and donate $20 to the casino @ MSY once.

I always had fun in Austin or Toronto flying RJ's. The hotels were nothing special. Decent layover lengths, good beer, and college girls. Can't wait to report on my international trials and tribulations in the near future.

Unhappy I miss 'em

I think the best domestic layovers were at classic old hotels in "walkable" cities, such as: Mayflower (SEA), Benson (PDX), St. Francis (SFO), Parker House (BOS), Palmer House (ORD), etc.

I stayed in the Palmer house last night & would have to agree that it's a premiere location. Plenty to do in that city!

I miss domestic flying as there were some epic layover cities that I'm sure have changed or maybe time allows me to think they were better than they really were.

A few of my recent favs. are Bangkok, Shanghai, and Munich (Hong Kong, and Amsterdam too).

Munich is pretty awesome! Not from a layover (of course not...) point of view, I have no idea, but I really like the city. I'm there pretty often as I am a sailing instructor in that area.

Of course I can't add any layover favs... Sorry, but keep 'em coming. It's really interesting to read!

Cheers - Jakob

P.S. Oh, and by the way, HSLD, do you fly 777s to Munich now? I always thought yyou only flew 767s?! That's cool, since when is that so? Thanks.

I'd agree with this. On longer overnights in some larger cities, I try and stay downtown. I've had some nice walkable city overnights in Miami and San Antonio.

Best Corporate Overnight: Westin Resort and Spa in Hilton Head (4 nights with the wife)

Best Regional Overnights: Portland, ME; Savannah, GA; Burlington, VT; Wichita, KS. All overnights with decent length stays and easy access to downtown.

Wichita? Really? Reaaaally? I've been in and out of Wichita for years and while it -can- have it's moments (depending on who you are hanging out with) it's mostly a somewhat boring city. Unless you hit up Old Town (Or Brick Town, I don't remember what they call it). Other than that it's got a kind of dull night life and not much to see or do for sightseeing.

P.S - Air Capital of the World my @$$
