Default Anyone live in Miami

Does anyone based in MIA actually live in Miami?
If so can you share a safe / desirable area?

The search function might help you. Numerous threads from multiple airlines. Here’s one from an AA perspective:

Coral Gables is nice if you're talking Dade county.

However, there are way too many variables here and not enough info:

single or married?
kids or no kids?
do you prefer suburbia or more of a city feel?
are you 55+?

Not 55+ yet but like the feel of those communities. Looking for a safe quiet area without a long a commute from further north.

Gotcha. I would check out Kendal from west of the turnpike out to whatever skirts up against the everglades. Also just a tad to the north is Pembroke Pines in southwest Broward county. Both of those are the more recently developed areas and have a quiet suburban feel to them.

I cannot speak from much experience as I live in the chaos that is the beach area lol

Lots of great places. Others not so much.

Miami Lakes is great if you’ve got a family. Like Coral Gables, but smaller.

Miami Springs just north of MIA is a great little neighborhood.

Kendall is nice.

Miami Shores is up and coming, lots of great little spots there.

I’ve been in Dade County for some six years now. Still don’t like it, but it’s starting to grow on me. Like, a lot.

Granted, if you move up a few miles into Broward county, your taxes and insurance drops precipitously, but if you want to stay close to MIA traffic starts to suuuuck...

This. I have lived in the NO-GO zone for many years and I’m donezo. Moving north a few counties or west until I hit the Gulf.
