Default Miami at republic

Hey Guys,

I have been on the forum reading a lot. Apologies for my ignorance, i just want to get some insight from some republic guys. I know Miami is really senior, i am starting training soon with republic, and had a question. I understand sacrifice and would serve my dues in reserve, as necessary. But, is there a possibility of telling republic that i would prefer to do my reserve in Miami? Don't need a line, but reserve in Miami would work a lot better for me, my mom lives 5 min from MIA. Thanks in advance!

You can ask to sit reserve anywhere per the contract.... They can (and will usually) also say no per the contract. That being said every time I've asked to sit at home (also a Republic base) they have had decent reason for sending me to DC instead.

No base is so junior you couldn't hold it within 9 months and 3 months of that 9 you'll be in training. Please read the "Republic After the Contract" thread. Most junior date of hire in each base is constantly updated there.

I was able to hold it 7 months after starting training ! Which means 4 months after training ended .

Miami has gone relatively junior. As flapsdown said look in the Republic thread. I posted the hired dates of each base as of the beginning of the month. New bases were just awarded Friday, but I'm sure not much has changed.

The entire Miami population of my class which was 8 people, I think, all got awarded Miami for July and we were mid January hires.

As of our most current seniority list, the most junior MIA FO is a 12/16 hire. Good luck!

Started training in Jan, got MIA in November. Was on reserve in MIA for 6 months before getting a line.
when I was on reserve in LGA, for just about 15 days after IOE, I asked to sit RSV in MIA and always got it.
