so you never speak ironically, or sarcastically? Hate to break it to you, but grammar “experts” such as Merriam-Webster don’t agree with you.

Do any of you wake up in the morning and feel like a complete loser? I do all the time when I think of career choice and my life in general.

Folks, this person is nothing but a troll......ignore them.

They posted almost the exact same statements in the Dal forum some time ago.

“It’s” is the proper contraction of “it is.”

It’s not that hard, be nice and professional, don’t be weird or tell crude jokes. You can also go out to dinner with the crew, just be respectful, have a drink or two but don’t get drunk, then go back to your room alone afterwards.

Good rules to follow: view your colleagues as colleagues and not conquests, don’t start doing shots, nothing good happens after 10PM.

Not that hard.

Duuuuuuuude.

Good post.

Hear hear! This heartens my heart to know some on here are well-educated enough to know the difference.

Me thinks Joachim might in fact be a latent member of POEM,the Professional Organization of English Majors.
Sometimes referred to as the Grammar Police-To Serve and Correct.

ipdanno, POEM since 1984.

Tell that to e e cummings, but you’ll need to shout.

Disbarment rejected. Now go read five pages of Ogden Nash for your penance.

An aside, is that a name, pangolin?
