As they say, the exceptions prove the rule

Well, that’s because pilots are not an educated professional group, or not in the sense that most people think of. We are blue-collar, union trade workers. Our profession is more aligned with unionized plumbers and pipe fitters than lawyers and engineers.

Need proof? Just look at how the majority of pilots act in the hotels on overnights.

This site or rather some people on this site are masters of grandiose and ignorant overstatement. The “majority” of pilots on the majority of overnights, workout have a quiet dinner and try to get some sleep.

Just like the majority of flight attendants are not trying to get you alone in a hotel room so they can file a complaint and get you fired.

I would guess that the majority of pilots who post on this site would never have the opportunity to be alone in a hotel room with a member of the opposite sex in any case. And of course keeping diversity in mind, and or find themselves with a member of the same sex or non binary/gender fluid or any other person in a hotel room.

Now as far as engineers go, those dudes know how to party! ;)

I wouldn’t say that but there’s definitely a lot of dorks. Probably amplified by them being in charge of a plane. My only complaint is that pilots always have a bad taste in movies and tv shows, entertainment in general.

Ding, ding, ding! Honestly, I think there are quite a few who have Asperger's or just lack social skills. It makes for a pretty weird crew vibe when one doesn't speak to others or even make eye contact...especially on a long flight/trip!

Exactly.

Get to hotel, try to eat, maybe workout/get out for a walk, get some sleep, etc.

Quite the quintessential example of uneducated behavior....

Please leave this thread. I’m interested in productive conversation regarding pilot personalities and NOT talk about COVID. Farewell, so long!
