I wonder why they didn't include Birmingham, AL and El Paso, TX in their list of gay friendly destinations? And what about Couer'd Alane, ID?

Wow - I remember when airlines simply flew people, in clean spacious aircraft, with stewardesses and pilots that made a fair wage. What an incredibly stupid time that was!

I failed to see any of GoJets hiring open-houses on the Gay Event List.

Seriously though - exceptional marketing. Gay people have significant disposable income (in relation to most hetero couples). To market travel to them is a wise move. They also tend to be more loyal to people and companies that show them respect.

Disposable income, usually lots of it, and an entire demographic which will show brand loyalty. I second the smart move on their part.

Which extremist group meets in Coeur d'Alene? I thought it looked like a nice place to live until I found out they came calling once a year...

I also can't wait to see a SWA painted in "Pride" livery....maybe pink, with rainbow stripes. They can initiate service to SFO and instead of confirmation numbers on the E-tickets, they could have "safe words".

Actually, I remember it from when I was very young. I also remember my Grandpa complaining directly after de-regulation about people flying "who should be riding Greyhound" and also about "Southwest pilots flying for per-leg pay" that was below industry standard and therefore undercutting the "good" airlines like he worked for. That is why I have hesitated to rail against the B6 or Virgin America guys...the pilots from the late 70's/early 80's used to rant about the same things regarding Southwest pilots that the people here rant about regarding B6 and VA and now the SWA guys are at the top of the heap for pilots that carry people.
