Sry I must have missed it. Yes ultimately I would put my life on the line to keep the RU at bay. For context, I’ve mentioned this before, I’m a bit of a romantic and history is my jam. I view this struggle as not for the United States, but rather based in the grand view of humanity.
Humans suck. We are greedy. For recorded history (7000 years) we have been under the boot heel of autocratic men that can do whatever their spearman can get for them. Only since ww2 have we finally broken the backs of this form of existence. To put it into a mathematical concept, roughly 1% of recorded history. I look at the long game for humanity and I have no desire to allow us to go back or relinquish our very tenuous hold on (relative) personal freedom.
So In answer, if they asked me to jump back into a cockpit and take a viper downtown, I’d do it. I’d be scared out of my mind, but I believe I would hold fast. We have an obligation not only to the 400k plus US GI s that died to give us this chance, but to future generations. We will not tolerate brutality anymore. Putin can absolutely go **** himself and I’d gladly make it happen.
Now as to the escalation and where it would lead if we had boots on the ground, that is a huge risk, there are alot of steps until that becomes a factor. But I guess when one is an appeaser, these options seem foolish.
Evil prevails when good men do nothing.
Before you throw nuclear war in my face I understand that is the ultimate killer of worlds, it is certainly a catch 22.
