Default Great book

I'm reading a book called "Driving Change: The UPS Approach to Business" and it's a very interesting read. The many feelings most of us have about how our company should be ran is in there. Found it interesting when they talk about how they deliver packages all over the world where it might have started in a 747 and ended up being canoed across a river in souther parts of Africa or on a pack mule in Egypt. How the truck drivers get a look over every morning before routes to make sure they look professional. Wash the trucks everyday and keep shoeshine kits in the lockers. Dominated American Express and other package carriers and even how they ship items up to $50k in price even though they did help ship an iceberg because you couldn't really put a price on it. Picked it up in a terminal bookstore. Good read.

Did it also mention how the handlers and drivers have more managers looking over them than any industry? They put the government to shame with all the red tape and beaurocratic BS. They're making money hand over fist right now, but I'd hate to see what could happen with some streamlining and efficiency.

Having seen FedEx and UPS ops, it's obvious which is the airline with a delivery company and which is a delivery company with an airline.
