What kind of Brew is your favorite?

I'm really liking this new Miller Chill beer. Then ofcourse microbrews are great!
I just got a real nice pilsner set from this guy real cheap:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MESE:IT&ih=003

Thought I'd bring it up to those into this type of thing......:)

Spartan07 09-24-2007 05:44 PM

You know, I think you and myself are the only two people on the face of the planet that like Chill. It won't replace my favorite(s) but I had some the other night and was pretty impressed. For some reason it reminded me more of a lemon/lime soda than a beer though.

Illini 09-24-2007 05:53 PM

Red Seal Ale

RyGuy1788 09-24-2007 07:06 PM

Busch Light. Yummmm. :)

Kidding of course.

I don't really have a favorite, but Heineken is pretty good, as well as most Sam Adams.

planecrazyjenn 09-24-2007 07:08 PM

Labatt Blue.

motoboy 09-24-2007 07:34 PM

A nice ice cold Natty light (yes I'm a poor college student). I agree though Chill is pretty good.

Pilotpip 09-24-2007 07:36 PM

I'm having a Fat Tire right now. :)

Note to management that may be reading this: I'm off for the next two days.

Spartan07 09-24-2007 08:37 PM

I fluctuate between beers. I'm on a Miller Lite kick right now for my everyday thirst quenching light beer. Amstel Light was (And I suppose continues to be) my light brew of choice. Spaten Lager is probably the best import light lager I've had so I try to pick up a pack of that every once in a while. And Young's 'Dirty Dick's English Ale' is my favorite dark beer. But I am by no means a beer snob, whenever I go to the bar I try to sample a new beer or two... or three...

Wait a tick... Didn't we just have this discussion a month or two ago? :)

Pilotpip 09-24-2007 08:42 PM

We're airline pilots. We're all making six figures, have a girl in every port and are raging alcoholics.

Ah, stereotypes...

Miller Chill stinks :) Go to Mexico and get a real chelada or michelada :)

Sioux39 09-24-2007 08:55 PM

I had De Koninck in England and I love it. Same goes with Newcastle.

Just got some 1878 from Germany, only had two and was buzzin. I think I like this stuff.

Spartan07 09-26-2007 04:08 PM

Spaten Optimator is one of those beers that will put you down for the count if you underestimate it. It's one of the more alcoholic beers that I know of. And it tastes good to boot!

GBU-24 09-26-2007 08:12 PM

Green King IPA!

Flyboyrw 09-26-2007 09:23 PM

Pacifico..

Sid Vicious 09-26-2007 11:17 PM

Guinness. It's a drink and a meal all in one...

Cubdriver 09-27-2007 01:33 AM

Nothing fancy but Samuel Adams has several flavors that I like, including one that is 12% alcohol called Long Shot. Two of those and you're not driving for a while. When I can't find that or a local made brew I go for Heinekin. Beer is more fattening than other alcoholic beverages in the quantities you typically drink, so I opt for a hard drink most of the time.

planecrazyjenn 09-27-2007 04:17 AM

Tried mic light last night...wasn't bad, but took way too many to get me buzzed.

Hard all the way cub! Several double tequilla shots and public nudity may start to occur!

Kidding of course. hehe.

kansas 09-27-2007 08:04 AM

1. Guinness (when I'm feeling rich)
2. PBR
3. Sam Adams seasonal

MoosePileit 09-27-2007 09:17 AM

Guiness- universally available.

1878s- a C-17 post-combat 26 hour duty day staple. You were already effectively a .10 BAC based on the 26 hours w/0 stable sleep, and then add 2 of those puppies in the basement of Ops. Who needed Ambien poker back then?

Fat Tire- I used to live near the brewery and knew some of the family involved in it- Bummed it's not East of the Mississippi anymore- like the original Smokey and the Bandit, it's so good, it shouldn't be bootleggin' to bring it home in mass quantities. It could be the actual reason I'm happy to fly tranports! (PilotPip, let me know where you find it anymore!)

But, as David Allen Coe sings: Jack Daniels, if you please... (thread hijack?)

Flyboyrw 09-27-2007 09:23 AM

oh yeah, for those familiar, any thing from prescott brewing company....liquid amber...

Hey Moose, you ever stopover in Shannon? Probably the best beer I ever had in my life was an 'Authentic' Guiness from the draft after a seven month (Dry!) deployment to the sandbox.

I'm not even too big on Guiness here in the states but man that was good beer!

MoosePileit 09-27-2007 11:02 AM

Spartan,

Nope, I always have the wx and notams for it at the ready, but never got the chance yet. After 7 mos. riding the wagon in the sandbox I'd be near and dear w/ whichever beer I first had access to- Glad you made it to Shannon in one piece.

hjs1971 09-27-2007 11:59 AM

Anything from Belgium is going to be tasty and higher in alcohol than the typical U.S. brew...Chimay, Leffe, Duvel to name a few...harder to find in the U.S. but many places carry them...in a bar, Blue Moon is good (with an orange slice, IMHO, the only beer that is allowed to be "fruited").

ILS37R 09-27-2007 01:10 PM

Troy Pilsner, which I've only ever been able to find in Turkey, is my favorite. That opinion, however, may be somewhat effected by experiences had while drinking Troy.

As a side note, unless there are no other options (which, sadly, is commonly the case), don't drink Efes.

At the end of the day, however, I'm more of a Hard Cider person. Woodchuck is my favorite well-distributed brand, and Widmer occasionally puts out a great micro in the Northwest.

Thank your mighty Herc drivers that flew us from TQ to Kuwait. You can also thank them for reopening my combat weary eyes to my true passion in life. ;)

No kidding, Spartan. That little terminal in Shannon was something else, wasn't it? I don't think there was a single guy on our plane that wasn't completely lit before getting back on that plane!

Oh yeah, pretty nice airport. And boy did those bartenders know how to serve. There was a 747 packed full of thirty Americans and they served every single one of us at least two pints. I couldn't believe how fast they could pour, serve, and receive payment for all those beers without spilling a drop or serving with too much head... Crazy Irish ;)
