Free Travel .... Almost
In an attempt to assuage my disappointment at Skybus ending service to Bellingham and me never having success in getting those $10 tickets, I began to look at other options. The travel reporter of the local paper went to Asia and wrote about Air Asia, whose business model is much like Ryan Air.
Just for giggles sake, I entered BKK to PNH for the latter part of November. It came back as FREE! Now that is a word I understand! But, alas, the taxes and fees and what have you will result in a fare of 2,720 Thai Baht (about USD 85). Still not so bad and beats a 20+ hour train ride with chickens and goats.
It's also having a promotion for flights between KUL and CRK for 483 MYR. If it's the Ringgit, then it works out to be USD 150.
