thats unbelievable, but I don't think I would be interested... not having a CD-Rom drive? thats just plain stupid. I know a ton of people that use their laptops just to watch movies on a long car ride/flight... granted this would be great if you had a PC or another mac that you could use that remote thing for, but then what would be the point of having it so thin?
another question... i haven't really been in the need of a thin laptop, but is thinner really that much better for pilots and/or anyone else? I don't see the advantage of paying more for something that doesn't even have a CD-Rom drive just to get it a little thinner... what are the advantages of having it so thin? plus like TD said, I'd be scared of breaking it.

What an amazing piece of technology!!
And to be honest, the Macbook Air was not even my favorite announcement of the day. I really liked the Time Capsule (wireless 500gb external hard drive that is also a wireless router using 802.11n WIFI, designed to work with Leopard's Time Machine to automatically back up your hard drive every hour). I also really liked the software update for the iPhone and iPod Touch, that basically turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a GPS to determine your location. I also really liked the ability to rent movies on iTunes.
I clicked to watch the keynote speech, thinking I would just watch a few highlights of the products offered, but the speech was so darn interesting I watched the entire one hour and thirty minute clip, and I was amazed.
Apple continues to do it year after year after year. I was a little nervous because they had to live up to high expectations after releasing the iPhone last year. And they surpassed everyone's expectations... AGAIN!!
It really says something about a company when your followers swear by your products, and get excited year after year after year for the new technological innovations.
I have an iPod. I have an iBook. I am buying a iPhone as soon as my phone contract is up. And I will never own anything other type of computer except for a Mac.
