You're right it, the 10$ a month over two years is more than the rebate... But you are getting so much more. It is 2.8 times faster than V1, so you actually get a lot more. It's not just a blind increase.

And with that speed you get all of the lovely new features, like the GPS which will actually speak out loud and give you turn by turn directions. Tom-Tom is making that software, from what I've heard.
