As happens occasionally, the captain I flew with made a fantastic landing last night at LAX (737-700).

Now it, may have been the way he said it ( it sounded like a old crotchty dude) by I over heard him say to the flight attendent

"Tell the cat, who landed this boat, it was a great landing"

It had me rolling. The only thing that would have made it better would be if it had been my landing. Indeed I think that was the highest praise I have ever heard by any pax.

I had a good one in cancun yesterday. The lead F/A aked if was my landing. I said yep. When she aked me what was my secret to a great landing. I told her I just close my eyes and hope for the best!

I bounced one in really good a couple weeks ago and a guy who had been talking to us at the gate before the flight came up to say goodbye after the flight and added the comment "I guess it's harder to stay night current this time of year isn't it?" as he left.

We were coming into MDW out of DTW coming in from FRA last summer on a NWA DC-9; we made such a hard landing, on my way out I told one of the FA's "yeah, tell those two up front to check for their tail hook... think they left it back there by the piano keys..."

The FA gave me a blank look but the FO laughed..
