It'll be just like talking on the radio: let go of the transmit switch before you cuss.

That's nowhere near as satisfying.

Congrats guys. Does this mean that the Founders will still be here (particularly HSLD for his photos) - or, will the Foundes be spending the millions they made on the sale and be too busy to post or be here much?

I think they are going to start up a LCC airline with their newfound millions.

That would rock - I hope they fly Airbii, and paint them as advertisements...perhaps they can also sell things on the flight and have the FA's on commision. I would personally base out of Columbus and have flight crew where Eagle Scout uniforms. Hope it happens!

Naw, just a fee scale per infraction. It's a new concept.

You'll have to submit a credit card to join. Then, every * we deduct a quarter. A four letter word with stars, such as ****, will cost you a dollar. An infraction will cost you $10, but we'll give a 20% off at the regional forum. Only fair (volume discount)....
I am actually kind of sad - I was never able to get infracted under the previous ownership. I have actually been warned at another, much less moderated site, but nothing here.

Serious question - will the site still be moderated by the same people and in the same way? Will the new owners keep APC like it is, or will it change to conform with their other sites?

I wouldn't worry about things changing. Review what the two admins have posted above in this thread. I think you'll start seeing some aviation related ads popping up here and there. That's it as far as I know.

Having been on PPRuNe for quite a while and experienced the transition, it was relatively seamless. On occasion there will be an ad placement under your Avatar, and for some reason, it picks up on a "key word" in your post and places an ad that corresponds with the "key word" in your post.

For instance, I had mentioned that I had sprained my ankle and was walking around with a "limp". The next time I looked at my post, there was a Viagra ad.

Peculiar logic.

I'll be glad when we get past whatever it bogging down APCF though. Most of the time, I need to get all the way out and back in to change pages.

Question

I haven't seen an announcement of APC being sold? Did someone buy 100% of the company or just a majority stake?

A year or so ago, I asked (via the 'contact us' link) if there was a way to buy a small stake in APC but never received a reply. So with this purchase, will APC be privately owned or will it be possible to but some shares in the future?

Thanks.
