Support for a flat tax?

You have to repeal the income tax, though.

They can't do that soon enough. :D

And the problem with doing that would be ....... ? I'd love to be able to keep the money I make instead of it being stolen from me through the magic of withholding.

We should abolish the IRS all together.

Rather then a Flat Tax I support a much smaller government and necessary funding should come from excise taxes/tariffs.

Although I think a flat tax is a good idea, you will never get it through the congress. I think the national sales tax has a better chance. People like the idea of getting rid of the IRS; the flat tax does not do this, but the national sales tax does.

How about defense and border enforcement after that nothing for anyone. That would be pretty flat.

progressive tax I say, roughly from 30-50%

edit: add to that only state-run hospitals and schools, and you got a nice system
