Going To Germany
#1
A couple months ago, I posted several possible DAL flights from SEA to FRA. I got the impression that when it's an international flight, I should give myself at least 2 hours to get out of the SEA flight, do an OJ Simpson run through the terminal, and catch the outgoing FRA flight.
Well, I finally nailed down the dates and US Airways has the best fare. The stop in CLT is 1 hour and 18 minutes. Do you think I can make it? Do you think our luggage will make it? I haven't flown on US Airways internationally in several years now. How are they treating passengers in steerage?
Winter in Seattle is pea soup fog. So if it's that thick on the day we leave, we're toast anyway.

Toast ? Pea Soup ?
Is this a thread about lunch?
Edit add-on.......
I thought you already bought your tickets.
Anyway, as an add on to 74plb's suggestion, Lufthy flies nonstop to Frankfurt out of Vancouver BC too. Just a little over ten hours.

Believe it or not, Lufthansa flies direct SEA to FRA. (Don't you guys read my posts?? I reported this several months ago.
) Since my sister and her friend are taking it the week after our return, I decided to stay with an American airline, keep the money at home, so to speak. I would have liked to go on CAL, but it has configured the 777 as 3-3-3. My husband doesn't care, but I just don't like the idea of leaning up against a stranger for 10 hours.

I've flown round trip as a passenger between the US and Frankfurt / Stuttgart probably 15 times now. I've never flown US Airways and never been through Charlotte. However, I've been through other airports. The connection to the East Bound flight is never a problem. However, it was 50 minutes from entry into the pass port control hall in Dallas yesterday to signed thru by the CBP agent. I still had to pick up my bag. I had two hours in Chicago a year ago to make a connection and got into the departure terminal about 45 minutes after my plane left.
Best advice, you need 2 1/2 to 3 hours when you are coming back home.
Don't forget to checkout Heidelberg when you are in Germany. You can't beat the view from the Old Bridge.
