Default Some Funny Stories From A Frequent Flyer

I was in a seminar today where the speaker is a professional consultant. What distinguishes him is the way he presents dull and arcane legal material in a fun and brisk way. He plays funny YouTube videos, does magic tricks, and is just a complete extrovert. He is a frequent flyer and of course has a lot of funny stories to tell. Below are some he shared with us today. They are apropos to nothing, but interesting nevertheless.

He was sitting in his seat and noticed another man gleefully playing with his new GPS device. Next thing he knew, the FO came walking down the aisle obviously looking for a passenger. He found the GPS guy and told him to turn it off because they are now 50 miles off course. The GPS guy complied, but promptly turned it back on as soon as the FO left. Not long thereafter, the captain comes storming down the aisle and headed straight for the GPS guy. The captain's face was beet red and he was mad as heck. He confiscated the GPS and told the offender he will be dealt with as soon as they get back on course and have landed.

On another flight, he inadvertently left his cell phone on and during takeoff, the thing began to ring. His seatmate was an airline pilot who said "so you didn't turn it off?" He said "no, I guess I forgot, does it do something bad to the airplane?" The pilot responded "uh, I don't really know." [He doesn't know??]

Once, he was running late for a flight. He packed all his 3 oz bottles into a ziplock bag, but did not close the bag well enough. So when he took out the bag to place in one of those TSA bins, everything inside came flying (no pun intended) out everywhere. The other people in line saw that he was in a hurry and helped him gather up his things. He was about to cross the metal detector, and indeed had one leg into it, when a man in the back of the line yelled "hey, buddy, is this your fungal spray?"

And on that note, I am going to take a shower and have a bit of dinner.
