Best job at an airport?
I live near a decent sized class c airport, and am thinking about applying for a part time job there, for some extra cash. I'm getting my IFR rating, and am aleady there just about everyday anyway. Are there any specific positions I could apply for, that may in some way help me down the road, towards my career at becoming an airline pilot?
If not, and all I could possibly get out of it is money, than I have other roads I can take. But I did want to ask to see if someone could suggest anything.
Thanks,
Carl

At the 121 airline I work for, pilots have been rampers, dispatchers, operations, mechenics, and fleet service in the past. This airline realy likes well rounded employes who have a clue about aviation other then "I'm a pilot!" Ramping opens yours eyes and gives you better since of the big pic, not to mention that you are rubbing elbows with senior pilots that may have some pull upstairs for a hard worker.

I worked at a summer job at an FBO at a major class B airport, and it paid $11 an hour as a cashier/service person. I got to meet lots of corporate pilots, and I had a fun time being in and around some of the jets that flew in (yes, i said in).

Airport job
If they have a position that combines ramp duties along with Part 139 operations duties, (something like Line Technician), then you will be well on your way.
Best wishes & blue skies.
