I donate to the troopers association back home... just for the sticker in the window.

I also give to our volunteer rescue squad... thoes boys and girls do a nice job. And you never know when it might come in handy. And our pond is a refill point for our volunteer fire department. Can never have to much H2O when the barn is afire.

In a lot of cities there are lawyers who handle traffic tickets for free. See if there is one there that you can use. Having a lawyer show up for you lets the court know that you are taking the ticket to be a serious matter. It also makes it hard for them to jack you over on account of your own lack of knowledge in the courtroom. Also, the lawyer can probably make the cop squirm if he shows up. Lastly, the lawyer and the judge just might be friends. All judges were lawyers at one point and this is one case where professional courtesy or a "who you know" type of situation comes into play.

1. Not really, unless you drive drunk. But that's not just a ticket where I come from. They include a free ride downtown. :(
2. Only if you get one on a runway somewhere. If you don't slow down for an approach, they usually find out anyway.
3. You'll be fine pal ...unless the Spelling Police check this thread again. :D

what happens if u get dwi? and u get free ride to downtown?

if u get a dwi, then u are gonna have a hard time getting a flying job.
Seriously, if you are stopped and you think that you might be pushing the limit...don`t blow up the balloon, don`t walk the line, don`t touch your nose while your eyes are closed. Hand the "man" your keys and do what F.Lee Baily told me about twenty years ago..."If you are in trouble, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT". Your liscense might get suspended, but they can`t get you for D.W.I.

I did hire a lawyer for the appointed court date. Will let you all know how it turns out.
