A generally accepted method in the jet transport is: To correct a dutch roll motion you should apply a sharp ( firm, but not big ) aileron input towards the upcoming wing (in and out, don't keep it). Then again, if necessary. It is not advised to use rudder to correct dutch roll, the roll is much more visible than the yaw, so easier to correct.

727 sim instructors made us learn that method, but warned that it was easy to get "out of phase", thus aggravating the roll. A simpler method was to extend a few degrees of spoilers--the dutch roll stopped at once.

Dont forget, you can always slow down and/or descend to stop the gyration. I have actually test flown a 727 with the yaw dampers off and it does work as advertised
