Personally I believe the iranians could not possibly be that stupid...

International Opinion:

1. Iraq was an unjust war, initiated for no good reason.

2. Afghanistan was a just war, initiated because their leaders harbored the folks who brought us 9/11. A wide array of allies, including the french, are still supporting our efforts with forces in a-stan.

Don't get me wrong, I know the iranians are supporting insurgents and I don't like it one bit, but they are not of the suicidal persuassion.

I believe more than a handful of reporters (and Iranian citizens) have confirmed he's been in and out of the country as far back as 2003. They located a compound he was living in North East of Tehran. Also, some analysts think it's also the reason he's switched from video to audio tapes. Can't find any back drop near by that would lead anyone to believe he's in Afghanistan/Pakistan. The only way for him to stay hidden is 1.) get out of the area we've been scouring for 9 years 2.) minimize human contact. He would've never been able to stay hidden this long in eastern Afghanistan based soley on the fact that people talk.

Run a google search, there are quite a few articles running around about the subject.

Someone tried to play Rambo if you can call it that and got caught in the process and with the high bounty on OBL's head you would have figured someone would have turned ,lots of loyalty to him on his side.
To pull something off like this requires more than just one person and lots of support , it makes you wonder if he read just one too many SOF mags.

Its an interesting read, although the video to audio tape thing seems a bit strange. Surely if the iranians are paying for his apartment they can afford a $10 green screen?

Yeah the guy must have been a few cans short of six pack. But it sure would have been cool if he had got a nice trophy Bin Laden head to hang on the wall right between his wild hog head mounts. It would just be so fitting.
