Default Most Extreme Airports

History channel did an interesting piece on World's Most Extreme Airports. Ten airports and number 8 was EGE (Eagle, CO). I would tend to put ASE (Aspen) way above EGE. EGE is where you go when you can't or don't want to go into ASE. Maybe cause 75's can go into EGE?

Anyone else see the piece?

I assume it's because of the heavy metal that goes into EGE.

I agree with your assessment. I'm just glad they got Les Abend... got to see the legend in action.

Yeah EGE is a cake walk compared to ASE when the weather is down.

Thumbs up

Yep, saw it tonight with my son. He was riveted to the TV. I had only been to (3) of the Top (10) Most Extreme airports---SAN, SXM and HKG.

Great show although my wife did not share my excitement My favorite was Courchevel( I think I spelled it right), runway with a big hill and a ramp at the end, that looks like fun! The guys getting blown off the fence in St. Martin was pretty entertaining.

Tegucigalpa is pretty interesting, Caracas del centro, Quito.

Is Caracas del centro the one in the city?
Used to fly to Simon Bolivar south of the city. Also quite challenging based on the numerous smudges on the surrounding hill sides.
I'd add Quito. La Paz and Santiago.

That was funny. I flew LXV-EGE-LXV for my 2nd solo cross-country in a C172.

10 years later, I flew into TGU in a 737-800. 8 more to go!

I loved #9, Madiera, just by the fact that they showed a AMF Chieftain in PHX that had a bird strike.

It was a great show, but I found parts of it to be extremely over dramatic.
