Default WAAS approaches

has anyone here actually shot one? In the Merlin we have a 530/430 deck. They are supposed to be upgradeable to shoot WAAS approaches. Any REAL idea on when they will be upgradeable. It should cost around $1500 each.

My long range nav teacher told us in class this Spring that the Senate concluded to "reduce & restrict WAAS funding". That's the only information I know about it, and it's pretty old too, dated Sept 03. I'm positive that someone else knows more about that situation now.

I haven't shot a WAAS approach yet, even though they have 2 in Fargo, ND; RNAV (GPS) RWY 18 & 36.

There's no shortage of new WAAS approaches. The FAA is cranking them out as fast as possible. You can check the status of new LPV approaches at the link below.
