Default Headset Recommendation (sorry)

Hi guys,

I think this is the right place for this thread, if not, I apologize.

I've been eyeing the QC15/UFLY, and the Clarity Aloft. Anyone have thoughts on them? Even better, anyone have experience with both? I'll be in piston aircraft for quite a while.

Also, although it's waaaaaaaay out of my price range, has anyone tried the JH Audio headset? It looks pretty cool and I've been curious about it. JH AUDIO | Aviation

Thanks

Thanks. I've read most of those already. The general consensus seems to be Bose or Lightspeed, both of which are out of my budget. I'm wondering if someone has tried both the CA and QC15?

I have the CA and I love it. Quieter than the bose and lighter too. Definitely go CA.

Haven't tried the QC, but I have been using the Clarity Aloft for about a year now, and love it. Light, comfortable, quiet, cool in the summer, you can wear sunglasses without mashing the temples into your head. Compared to my Telex 30XT ANR set I used before, they are quieter in the mid and high frequencies, maybe a bit louder in the low frequencies, but not much. Basically the same noise attenuation as wearing a good set of foam earplugs. I highly recommend it.

I like the DC X11, everyone slams them, but you can get them used cheap, I got mine for $150 from someone unloading them, make sure you have them on the right ear, the smooshy ear things can swap sides, that seems to be the leading cause of it sounding bad, but I love mine, then again I also paid $150....

I would think the QC15's are not good enough on passive noise attenuation for piston use. Jet pilots are the people who like them the most. We get about a dozen threads a year on headsets, so use the search window at the upper left to find them quickly.
