Wasn't flying, but been onboard close to a dozen brand new MD-11's, pre-delivery test flights, just prior to transferring them to the Customer.

There's nothing like that "new airplane" smell.

Did an acceptance flight on the 747-400 years ago, that airframe had less than 20 hours on it.

Several Cessna 172's and 182's fresh from the factory. One factory new F-18E Super Hornet. Smelled like a new car.

Picked up a new CRJ at the factory in Montreal. After flipping coins for the first leg, I got the opportunity to put the first line-pilot landing on the repo flight.

Super Hornet with 8 hours on it. Agree, smelled like a new car.

A number of PA-28's and PA-32's from the factory.... a few had less than an hour on the hobbs! (that can be a bit disconcerting...)
