That was actually the one major bone I had to pick with the most recent training program I went through. They said if the FD is on, you strictly follow it. Not good.. not good at all. Scan first, then look at the bars, they should verify what you want to do. |

I think you misunderstood, or they were not clear. We, along with many other fifi operators have had some, lets just say interesting things happen to those that don't follow the FDs.

Okay, got it... of course no pro pilot blindly follows FD bars without verifying they are correct. Now, lets get back to some good tool stories.
Here's one. I'm flying with a "hair guy." You know the kind. Spends way too much time on his hair, never wears the hat, has two cell phones, one for the wife, one for the girlfriends, talks a lot about how much money he makes on his stock-broker side business, carries pics of his porshe...etc. So it's my leg, just about clean-up altitude he says "Oh Sh!t"(just what you want to hear at clean-up altitude"), I say "***?", he comes back with "I forgot to comb the gel out of my hair!" 100% true |
