That probably has more to do with the odd checkout times we have. Since incoming pilot crews almost always leave at the same time I imagine it makes it easier for the cleaning crew.

Tool of the day "honorable mention"....

Hotel receptionists who insist on putting the CA and FO in rooms right next to each other (bonus points if the rooms are adjoined only by a paper thin "suite" door)..

It may not be up to them. Your airline may have a block of rooms and they keep putting you in the same rooms. I'd worry more about what the person who had the room before you was up to.

To the Receptionists:

We spend 16 hours a day within 3 feet of each other.

Really, it's really, really okay if we're on different floors.

Really. It's okay.

You're not sleeping in the same room nor have to talk with each other.. this goes way up on my "I just don't care" list!

Most of our hotels put us in the same area. Much better than non-crew members who have different schedules than us and who can be very noisy and inconsiderate, either by themselves or with their rugrats....

I love when they put me in a room with conjoined doors right next to a F/A. I get to listen to them chat away on skype until the wee hours of the morning, hack up a lung from all the cigs, or wake up to their Beyonce ringtone a half hour before my alarm so they can take their hour to get ready.

ONLY an hour to get ready? It takes me an hour and a half, two if I want to do it slowly.... :)

... And how true that is!

At least you two halves of a very comfortable bed to sleep it off. The curse of a F/O: even when you sleep... not a king.

That'll teach me to be sarcastic: typed the above on the van... Adjacent rooms, double bed. I'll just curl up in the fetal position and softly (so as not to disturb my neighbor) cry myself to sleep.

Those who believe it can't happen to them for landing at the wrong airport with all the goo goo phonics, paper charts, and operating NAVs on their aircraft:rolleyes:

Yah, that way you can look under the mattress for the tattered skin mag.
