America is doomed...

Tool of the day: CNN viewers.

an 84% increase would be a big deal... unless nobody watches you to begin with.

TOTD Nominee: Southwest pilot jumpseating on our USAirways flight to BWI. He was an '89 hire at USAirways, furloughed, and lucky to recover his career at Southwest. Gleefully espoused his admiration of the "culture" at SWA, had no empathy whatsoever for the treatment of AirTran pilots and worried they would pollute the aforementioned "culture", loudly described how he gets 150% pay for all of his trips as he makes $38000/mo so he can pay for his summertime toys. Needless to say that didn't sit well with me, an '87 hire (junior A/B Capt displaced back to F/O next month), who like the rest of my fellow pilots here have endured a miserable career path post 9-11 and bankruptcy. Next time a little humility would be appreciated, but of course, you will have to display that from a coach seat. You won't be riding up front with me anymore.

That would sum it up enough for the rest of us, we've all had our "WN pilot in the jumpseat" experience.

You may not like the way the SW guy came off on the jumpseat but his paycheck got your attention didn't it? Sometimes we all need to hear about just now good it can be for other players to realize just how bad our own situation is. Now take that anger and channel it in to your next round of negotiations.$$$$$

The guy mad at someone making triple his pay for doing the same job, who's not mad at management.

The fact is that it's very low class to spout off about how much you make to anyone much less a bunch of strangers.

Lolwut,

Did a SWA pilot pick on you in High School or what? That wedgie was a long time ago, man. Let it go!

Probably showed you his big watch too....

Anybody that feels the need to brag about toys and his paycheck probably has a little schwanz and no one to share it with either unless he pays for her.
