Suddenly I am very glad I hardly ever fly on AA.

(No offense to the rest of you hard working respectable grown up pilots there)

And since he seems to like hashtags. He needs to add #douchbag

Is he Piedmont or PSA?

A quick glance at one of the numerous "pilot" hashtags on Instagram is quite alarming.. The sheer number of millenial ultra dooshes with a selfie stick in the cockpit is off the charts. And I'm seeing a trend with these tools in replacing their narcissistic selfie stick with a drone to following their movements, edit their fancy look at me video, dub in some trendy edm tune, and upload it to the plethora of social media sites to collect "likes".

There was true tool, one of many, at Miami Air... Former Director of Training. He uploaded his picture on a singles website while wearing a Captain's uniform. He was quoted "When I take off my uniform after a busy day of flying, I like to take my boat for a sail." which was in the picture behind him.

Now the funny thing of it all was this DB never flew the line, nor did he hold an ATP, nor flew anything larger than a Piper.

Also the biggest boat he owned was a Sea Doo. He truly earned the name Captain Sea Doo.

Thanks for highlighting my problem with this little Douche.

He doesn't work for AA and isn't a AA pilot (not yet), yet wears verbiage that the general public might think he is. That eclipses all his little gel haired, selfie act and qualifies for TOTD, maybe even a runner up in the yearly semi-finals.

In over three decades of flying, I've run across nearly a dozen instances of commuter owned or affiliated claiming they are AA pilots in bars, in airports, on webpages and even to FA's onboard while traveling to an Eagle interview, yet I have never seen the same in reverse. (One even stood in my face repeating "I am AAL" while demanding first jumpseat priority of 5 guys on the jetbridge consisting of 3 AA, this Eagle guy and a Northwest pilot)

90% (or whatever #) should flow up without question. Great pilots and true professionals. The rest should get a serious evaluation and rejected if needed. I'm total civvy and I speak of the same clowns I couldn't stand as CFI's and in Part 135.
