Caribbean Islands

Late last century I visited Montserrat and didn't want to leave. If you've never seen an abandonment its also got the 'quiet city' of Plymouth, probably not on most peoples idea of a romantic thing to do....
There's also a nice blend of French and British culture so that whole British in ya face thing is not so, well, in ya face.... Although the island 'richies' are a bit stuck up..

I'll +1 on Grand Cayman. Very nice island, touristy, but not overbearing. I've been on 3 cruises and stopped there on two of them.
I'm not a fan of Jamaica, or at least Ochos Rios port. Nothing but constant haggling from the locals. I feel bad for them, but they filter you through all these shops to even get out of the excursions, then drop you off in another shopping area before you go back to the boat. The only good thing out of it was the Rum Cream we found there.
I liked Nassau, we did just a loosely self guided tour, and access to Atlantis resort. I'm sure there's much more there, but a big storm shut us down.
Biggest thing is watch out when you go to bars etc.... They will run up on you and just freely pour drinks at you. Just be sure to wave them off unless you just want to get plastered and broke

Not cheesy at all.
I liked the Montego Bay resort--very quick to get there. It is literally right off the airport on the beach. The downside to that particular property was the aircraft noise from the afternoon departures. Only a couple of hours but it got pretty loud--reminded me of work and my wife didn't like the noise.
Other than that I'd recommend that Sandals property to anyone.
Have fun.
