A native of Alaska, I am a newly-minted ATP (ASEL - the feared C-172) who works as a part-time flight instructor (CFI/CFII - over 5 years) in the San Francisco Bay Area, and work full-time for a very large, well-known, aviation advocacy organization as a writer in their safety division. I have over 2700 hours, and served in the U.S. Army and Air Force, taught high school, conducted research with NASA, and hold an aviation world record.

I'm currently a First Officer with a major airline where I have been flying the Boeing 717 for over 6 years. Before I came to this airline, I was with a commuter for almost 5 years, and instructed/flew privately for 2 years prior to that. I have 6000+ hours of which most of that is jet (part 121) time. My degree is not related to aviation. I didn't begin the aviation route until I was in my 30's, even though it was a passion of my since grade school.
I love aviation (I love what I do), and hope to continue flying until retirement. My job facilitates, both economically and with sufficient time off/travel, my other passions (skiing, sailing, and diving with my family).

As a new registrant, you must introduce yourself before you can post in the rest of the forum.
***(Note: It may take a few hours for the system to register changes and open forums to you.)***

- Please let us know a little about yourself - your experience, hours logged, what you fly, type ratings, position, goals in aviation, etc.
- If you want to protect your anonymity, you can say something like, "I am a first officer at a major American airline", i.e., you don't have to name names if you don't want. We recommend that you not reveal your full name or email address.
- After you've introduced yourself, the Pilot Lounge and Career Builder forums will open up to you.
- After you've been registered for 3 days with 5 non-deleted posts, you'll be able to see and post in the rest of the forums, as well as send private messages (PMs).
