Default Woman Hitches Plane Rides To 50 States

Woman aims to hitch a ride by air to all 50 states | Local News | The Seattle Times

I'm cheap as well, but I'd rather get a job to pay for the airfares before I hitchhike with pilots who "love to share."

Ironic. ... By definition:
A vagrant or a vagabond is a person, often in poverty, who wanders from place to place without a home or regular employment or income.
IMHO she's on a very cool adventure that will give her a compelling story to tell. These days, she might be able to spin that into some cash if she's a good writer.

With the cost of general aviation escalating and the foreboding demographic trends which affect the hobby, she might be catching a unique adventure just before the opportunity mostly vanishes.

There used to be a bumper sticker in the 70s that said....
Gas, cash or @ss...Nobody rides for free!
Second version...

Given the price of AvGas and the fact I'm supposed to check for 29.6GPH on the takeoff roll ... I'll take the gas.

(unfortunately the IO550 doesn't eat mo-gas either)

It's great fun having that on your bumper when you get pulled over for speeding ...

"Would you step out of the vehicle, sir?"

Seriously, her trip is good publicity for aviation for a change.
