Default The Best of APC

Note to HSLD (which to me will always stand for Hot Sexy Lover Dude ): if this thread is not appropriate, feel free to delete it.

APC was born in February 2005 and since then, 6,358 people have chosen to be members, contributing to over 6,800 threads with nearly 78,000 individual posts. This is quite impressive for a group of aviators! The motto is "Information is power" and many come here looking for just that. This microcosm is made up of seasoned pilots, teenager wannabees, middle aged wannabees and heck, even a lawyer or two. Yet, all of us have somehow managed to get along, learn from each other and even have some fun. And it is in the spirit of this fun that I would like to start this thread asking for your nominations to the following categories.

Best Avatar Overall

Best Avatar (Major Airline)

Best Avatar (Regional)

Best Avatar (Cargo)

Funniest post (share the link, if you can)

Most creative name (after HSLD, that is)

Most fun section (Hangar not included)

Person who takes the longest to read USA Today

CalCapt has some funny post's.

Otto pilot along with ToiletDuck have interesting avatars.

Some of the FDX guys have some "nice looking" avatars.

Otto pilot is an interesting name, it either refers to the auto pilot or otto from the simpsons, maybe otto can explain.

I think that Vagabond and SkyGirl should get some avatars!

apc is a great site run very professionally.

the banner is better than any aviation web site out there.

the best avatar i've seen belongs to "was that for us?"

ps: if any of you need an easy way to make an avatar, take any picture off the web and go to http://mypictr.com/.

APC is a great site that helps stupid little wannabe's like me to get a great insight on the aviation industry. I have learned sooo much here and the people are all really great here! I have noticed that if you get to talk to pilots or even get to know them, there are all really awesome people. I have not spoken to one that was not completly nice, friendly and helpful! The fact that there are so many on this site, makes it great to be part of it and READ READ READ!

I really laugh about MD11Fr8Dog's posts sometimes! I like his avatar too.

I dunno about the funnest section. They are all extremly informative but the funnest would probably be the cargo section. Those cargo guys have a great sense of humor! (mostly )

@favila008: I think, Ottopilot refers to a "character" in the movie "Airplane". His avatar is Ottopilot in that movie. He is the autopilot so I guess your right there! Funny movie that is...

Duck (I promise not to call you Toilet any longer), there is nothing hard about the categories. I expect much more from a 24 year old CFI who has a credit score of 742!

Thank you everyone for contributing. Although we have a small sample size, the consensus seems to be the Cargo guys have the most interesting names and avatars. It must be from all that night flying with boxes and a lack of meaningful human contact. I have to say though that ToiletDuck is pretty creative. Too cute, even though I have no idea what it means.

An interesting avatar is groovinaviator's Mach 1 in a Tampico. That is way cool, man.

In the funny post category, there appears to be a neck and neck race between calcapt and MD11Fr8Dog. We'll let a few more posts come along before declaring a winner.

favila008, I am bound by the code of judicial conduct and the avatar I had in mind to use would be considered inappropriate.

Finally, kudos to Hot Sexy Lover Dude for a classy operation. Thanks for letting us express ourselves. It beats chemical intervention, therapy or incarceration.

I do vote for the cargo guys thread. I love the jokes.

You know you're a cargo pilot if:
ATC advises you of smoother weather higher up and you don't care.
Airliner's wait while you "test the squal line first".
You show up to work dressed as always and a G-IV pilot ask you to put his bags in his plane... ect lol.
